Taipei, Taiwan (Day 2)

I started my morning by having breakfast at a local shop at XMD that sells great Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice) and vegetables. The rice cost around NT20, while the vegetables cost around 35NT. The vegetables (Gao Li Cai) tasted great as they were really fresh and delicious!

After that, I journeyed to my next destination which was to go Jiufen. To get to Jiufen, you can take the train or the bus. I chose to take the bus. To go to Jiufen by the bus, take the metro (捷运) to Zhongxiao Fuxing, and go by exit 1. Outside exit 1, there will be a bus stop for bus 1062 (Keelung bus). The bus ride is roughly 2 hours, and it cost around NT102 to get on. You will need a Easycard or you can simply pay by coins. There will definitely be seats, and it can be quite comfortable travelling on the bus, admiring the sights and sounds of Taipei.

At Jiufen (九份), I wanted to walk and shop around. This is a good place to buy almond powder and Alishan tea leaves. There are also a lot of shops selling mochi and pineapple tarts as well.

This is also a good place for grilled mushroom! They are simply a delight to eat and I love them! Super yummy for mushroom lovers. After that, I returned back to Taipei, and went to Shida (师大) night market. To get there, just take the metro to Taipower Building Station and go by exit 3. At exit 3, turn right and and turn right again before walking straight. There are a lot of things to eat there, and a lot of university students shop there as their university is just around the corner.

I had this for dessert:

Yoghurt at YoFroyo! This is about 80NT and it was delicious!
